Physician-supervised weight loss,
designed for your whole health.

A medical weight loss program coming soon to Tarrant County Cardiology — built around what matters most: lowering your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, with the safety of full physician oversight every step of the way.

Why This Program

Weight loss is heart medicine.

Excess weight is one of the strongest drivers of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Treating it well means treating the root of your cardiovascular risk — not just a number on the scale. That's why this program lives inside a cardiology practice.

Built into a cardiology practice

Your full cardiovascular and metabolic picture is part of every decision — not a one-size-fits-all template. Heart health is built into the program from day one.

Full physician oversight

Every prescription is reviewed and managed by a physician. Lab work, dose adjustments, side-effect management, and follow-up are part of the program — not optional add-ons.

Tailored to you

GLP-1 medications, other prescription options, and lifestyle support are combined based on your health history, current medications, and personal goals.

What's Included

A complete program, not just a prescription.

Medical evaluation & labs

Every patient begins with a full cardiovascular and metabolic evaluation: medical history, current medications, baseline lab work, and a discussion of your goals. Our physicians review everything personally before any prescription is written.

Medication options

The program includes GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound), and may incorporate other prescription weight loss medications depending on your medical history, insurance coverage, and response to treatment.

Ongoing supervision

Regular check-ins to monitor your progress, adjust doses, and manage any side effects. Repeat labs as needed to track cardiovascular risk markers — cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar — and make sure the program is working for your whole health, not just your weight.

Lifestyle support

Medication is one tool, not the whole answer. We help you build sustainable changes in nutrition and activity that support long-term results — and protect your heart for decades to come.

Frequently Asked

Common questions.

Do I have to be an existing patient to join?

No. The program is open to new patients and existing patients alike. Many people start the weight loss program and then become long-term cardiology patients.

Will my insurance cover GLP-1 medications?

Coverage varies widely by plan and by specific medication. During your consultation, we'll discuss your insurance coverage and help you understand your options — including cash-pay programs, manufacturer savings programs, and alternative medications if needed.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Results vary by individual, but most patients on GLP-1 medications can expect to lose 15–20% of their body weight when combined with lifestyle changes. During your consultation, we'll set realistic expectations based on your specific situation.

Is this safe if I have heart disease or diabetes?

That's actually one of the strongest reasons to consider a physician-supervised program — many of these medications were first studied in patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and have proven cardiovascular benefits. Being part of an established cardiology practice means these conditions are taken seriously and managed appropriately.

How is this different from a med spa or quick weight loss service?

This is a real medical program with a real physician overseeing your care. Lab work and follow-up are built into the plan, not optional extras. And because the program operates within an established cardiology practice, your cardiovascular health is always part of the picture.
